SUMMER. IS. HERE!!!
Okay.. perhaps I’ve jumped the gun but I’m sure we can agree that the weather has been very nice. We spent last weekend in London taking part in a fantastic event organised by The PA Network which bought together physician associate students, qualified professionals and specialty doctors who delivered some really engaging CPD.
The event had a panel of professionals who answered the questions of keen physician associates, guest speakers who shared their insights in alternative career pathways and an awesome seminar on contraception and women’s health delivered by a GP with a specialist interest in gynaecology.
We even had our own slot where Kameel spoke at length about CV development and how to successfully nail a job in the NHS. It was an engaging presentation to which one of the attendees told me…
“Mate I work in finance but this has provided me with extra motivation to find a better job.”
We also enjoyed meeting many of those who attend our webinars. I managed to speak with many students and professionals and got some brilliant feedback on our content. We’re always looking to improve our delivery of CPD content as well as providing a better range of subject matters. It was also a special moment for us too as we managed to launch our first physical book titled “Investigations Made Easy: Simplifying ECG, ABG and CXR interpretation.” This is co-authored by Dr Imran, Myself (Dr Oomerjee) and Dr Abdallah covering ABG, ECG and CXR interpretation.
We’re big believers in physical books. Call us old school but there’s nothing like holding and writing in a physical book. The ability to highlight, annotate and engage with a book is difficult to replace. If you’re interested in purchasing a book then please check it out here. We also felt generous on the day and decided to treat the attendees to pizza. Unfortunately there wasn’t any left for us so we decided to tour Brick Lane, a historic part of East London.
We roamed through the streets, absorbing the culture of modern London and ended up getting some food to end the day. In the end, we felt motivated to continue improving our content and brainstorming ways in which we can improve your experience when you attend our events. I’m not going to reveal too much but over the coming weeks to months we have some fantastic resources that will be released.
So enough about us… and now about you!
One thing the event taught us is that clinicians love CPD. The event was fully booked and the motivation for the professionals present was to network and learn new information and skills. We at Pareto have learnt so much through our engagement with the various professional groups in the MDT and are trying to appeal to as many professionals as possible. This is why we have scheduled some fantastic CPD courses over the next few weeks which I’m sure will appeal to you!
1) CPD Paediatric Minor Illness’ (Sunday 8th June 09 - 1700 + RECORDED access):
This promises to be an excellent, full-day course covering the core aspects of diagnosis, investigation and management of paediatric conditions. This is presented by the Pareto Team who have extensive experience in managing paediatric minor illness conditions and we will aim to cover a number of practice areas. Please visit this link to read more :)
2) CPD Neurology Masterclass (Sunday 29th June 10am - 1300 + RECORDED access):
Neurology is tough and having delivered a face to face session recently in South Yorkshire, we realised that it is an area that many clinicians struggle with. We have invited Dr Elniel, a registrar in neurology to deliver an engaging teaching session on neurology diagnosis, investigation and management. He will cover principles of examinations and core emergency and chronic conditions. Be sure to visit this link to learn more.
Finally, don’t forget to miss out on our FREE mid-week webinars. We have an awesome line up of both student AND professional topics to help keep you up to date on knowledge and practice guidance,
Enjoy the weather!
Until next time
